So I'm an alto but you better believe that I want this part like no other. Most consider me to be a great character actress, so I'm not too concerned on that aspect. However, I can't find any audition songs that showcase what I can do with my voice and that don't seem too obvious. Here are some I've already thought about.Everybody Loves Louis- Sunday In The Park With George Some People- Gypsy Sensitivity - Once Upon A MattressSend In The Clowns - A Little Night Music Another Hundred People - CompanyLadies Who Lunch - CompanyAlso while my main goal is to be casted as the Witch, I'm looking for songs that could go with the Baker's Wife and Cinderella, just in case.
Hi! I've seen people that say to stay away from Sondheim during an audition (although I'm not sure why as he's a genius) but I just think as long as you are confident in the song, you should sing it. From the list for the Witch (which is a role I'll be auditioning for soon as well), I would choose either "Another Hundred People," or "Some People." They're both at a faster pace, which is very Sondheim like, especially in Into The Woods. Break a leg! :)
