I’m confused if this is a reading or an actual staged production.

The article says that the lighting, sound, and costume designers are also returning, which I think implies something more than just a reading.

I'm also a bit confused on what format this is going to take, since I think the zoom reading earlier this year also mentioned having the original sound/light/costume designers (as well as the original cast)

Anyone watch tonight to let us know the format? I’m currently watching Circle Jerk which is performed live in Brooklyn.

It's performed over Zoom.

Did anyone see this tonight? I’m curious if it uses virtual scenery techniques similar to those used by the Angels in America scenes (which featured Jeremy O. Harris).

It doesn't use any virtual scenery, and I thought it was pretty spectacular.

Thanks for confirming. I won't be watching since I already saw the Zoom reading months ago.

this is literally the same version of what they did a few months ago, why is this being positioned as like a new production? (confused)

Also do they really need to perform it live? Just record it,  let people watch it on-demand for a week and call it a day.

I really appreciate the fact that they're performing it live, and I'm sure the cast is very happy to do it. I just finished watching it for a second time.

I Hate sitting at my desk and watching these zoom things for two and a half hours so I wish they’d offer a streamed version I can cast to my tv.

I watched it on my laptop, but using wireless steaming to my Roku TV (as if the tv were a separate monitor).

Lol wait, how do you do that? I have a Roku but thought it wasn't possible.

Back on topic, I thought this was spectacular. Kudos to the cast and design team. The live performance added tension and immediacy that I haven't felt in months, and the thoughtful scenic and sound design created a full experience that made this nearly as good as the real thing.

Windows 10 has a feature (if your computer supports it) where you can hit the windows key and the letter P, and bring up a projection menu. Then you choose connect to a wireless monitor. My Roku TV shows up there as long as both are on the same WiFi.

Ahh, yes, I'd read about this. Android phones, too. Sadly no support for Apple devices.
